"Draw me a horse."

As far back as I can remember, that's how people identified me: the girl who draws horses.

From their soft, whiskered muzzles to their long, flowing tails, horses are beautiful, majestic creatures, and I wanted to share their beauty with my number 2 pencil and crayons. In my artwork, I'm still moved to share the things I find beautiful or interesting. My subjects are often animals, but in nearly every sight or situation, I find something worth contemplating.

Since being introduced to artist quality colored pencils when I was a teen, they have remained my preferred medium. I enjoy the color depth reached through layering and the translucent nature of colored pencils. I'm drawn to the precision of detail a fine point can achieve, while still amazed at the multitude of effects that can be attained with various techniques and solvents.

I also enjoy dabbling in other mediums, such as acrylics, watercolors, pastels, fabric arts and clay sculpture. I currently work as a software developer and create in my spare time, but I do take a limited number of commissions. For more information, contact me.
